I have been waylaid by commissions, and must defend myself! Hats off to anyone who gets that reference. SO, In order to deal with the influx, I'm going to post a form. If you want a commission, copy and paste the form into a note, fill it out, and send it to me. If you send me a note without the form, I'll just link you back to this journal. Even if you give me the relevant information in your own way. The reason for this is organisation. It helps me keep track, and more importantly, Quickens my response time, and also the time in which you recieve your commission! So everyones happy! COST: 100usd for character. +50% for any additional characters in the same image.
Detailed background costs an extra 25usd.

All payments are to be completed once artwork is finished. You will recieve a final
version at 10% the size and detail of the final HD version. Once approved and payment
is recieved, I will send the fullsize HD version to you via email or dropbox.

Once upon a time, I stumbled across DeviantArt, specifically Coey, and was like, "This is what I want to do". I was about 17 at the time. And to be totally honest with you, Shit at art. I hadn't really pushed myself. I doodled in school books, but thats about it. So here we are 8 years later, and I seem to be doing okay. Give or take a crippling headache and ragefits about my inability to paint something as simple as a leg, when I've painted them 100 times before.

So now I sit with 60k views. Not a massive amount by DA standards, but I'm grateful for every single one of them. To me, that 60k is worth a million. Okay, not really, but close. It's still 60,000. If I had a penny for every view, I'd have 600 pounds. And then I'd have to convert that to Australian moneys.. probably pay a fee.. and then tax.. So I'd have like 500 pounds.. and I could buy Skyrim. And a really comfy beanbag.. and a prostitute.

But wait! This seems like a fairly positive journal! Whats going on?! Well firstly, shush, sit down. It's not all rainbows and kittens. For a start, ever since I did the Yogscast channel, I get about 2-3 emails a week, from people expecting the same work, for free. Totally for free. The moment I outline my pricing, I never hear back from them. The same thing happens about once a week regarding Character Busts. They're 25usd. Soon to be 30usd. Thats not a massive amount of money for the work I produce, is it? And yet people seem to get affronted that I dare ask for money.

It might just be the youtube crowd and the mentallity of today. We all expect stuff for free. I just never thought I'd be at the ass end of the stick.

So to outline for any youtubers!

And yeah, I actually had someone ask for "just the free background".. I mean honestly, it's just a gradient colour.. Anyone can do that in MSpaint, surely? It's like going into a supermarket and seeing a bottle of cola with, "30% Extra Free!", then untwizzling the cap and drinking 30% of it. And then getting annoyed that the security guard twats you on the head with a baguet.

My god, what a week it's been. I started a new schedule, squeezing in an extra 3 hours painting into each day. At first my hand protested and was all, "WHATS GOING ON! WHY DO YOU HATE ME SO?!", and then it calmed down and my knuckles stopped throbbing. For the life of me, I'll never really understand bodies.. I can quite happily play PC games and Xbox, but the moment I demand more hours of holding a pen from my hand, it throws a tantrum. Silly body.

SO, what does this mean? Well I just banged out another complex Youtube channel for DaveChaos in half the time the Yogscast one took, although there were half as many characters. But still. I made speed. I'm going to be powering through alot more commissions and busts now too, which should be awesome, since they've been pouring in and I've been too waylaid by contracts to do much about them. You best watch out Inbox, you're about to be cleaned. With a hose. A high pressure hose. Of love. And not the good kind either!

Also my subscription to DA is about to explode. Sadface. I've enjoyed it and it's gone a long way to helping me make more friends and more of an impact with my art. But alas, I can't spare the immidiate cash to buy another years worth, and so I'll just go back to being an ordinary member for the time being.

So thats that. A fairly small update. Not a particulary funny one, but I had nothing funny to say. Life can't always be a barrel of laughs and I can't take the pressure you put me under! It's too much! I'm taking the kids to my mothers for the weekend until you learn to appreciate me!

But it's an update nonethless. And from someone as scatterbrained as me, thats atleast something. You're lucky I'm even typing on the right website. I could just as easily stumbled onto pictures of ladies boobs. And then where would we be?! Thats right. France.

SO if you guys are fans of the Yogscast, you might notice their channel artwork changed today. That was me!!! EEE!!!

I did that! I produced it over the better part of a month. Alot of you may be thinking, "A month? It took that long?" To which I say, SHUSH, I was painting people I'd never met, aiming for real-life accuracy and relying on 3-4 images per person. This was before all the Gamescom Footage came out. So don't be so judgy Mr judgy pants. Also each painting is it's own seperate entity, as a 7000px tall image, that can be arranged to make the complete channel, but can also be arranged seperately on splash pages, or even printed out poster size to retain detail.

I cannot tell you how.. amazing? It felt.. to have my artwork on something that widely known, and that epic. It's like I'm not just this little freelance artist that nobody knows, who isn't very good at his job, who barely contributes.. Just for a second I actually felt worth something..

And offers have already started coming in of other Youtubers wanting similar artwork for their channels! So awesome! I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl.

The artwork itself! With the nature of Youtube channels, you'd probably only see the artwork if you've got a widescreen monitor, otherwise it's pretty wasted on ya.
