The entire thing is a digital painting. NOT PHOTOMANIPULATION. Not that the detail is that good, but you never know. Someone might make the mistake of thinking it's a photo.

In order to get the perfect likeness of each character, I essentially had TrueBlood and Twilight playing on my computer. Whenever someone posed in such a way I thought I could make work, I'd pause the movie/show, and get to work, using the still as reference. Often times I had to cycle through multiple shots of say.. Sookies face, and then search for a better shot of her uniform. The whole process took absoloutely ages, but in the end I was left with a painting that was literally as close to the orignal cast's likeness as I could possibily get, while it still being a painting.

I spent eons on this. And I dedicate it to my wife, Sarah, without whom I wouldn't be where I am now. Loves you.

PS.. Can I sell prints of this? Is that legal? I dunno, fuck it. Remember, if you like, pass it around! <plots for world domination>

EDIT: TWEAKED all the things you guys critiqued. (Other than conflicting lighting on faces, but tbh, I'm a fairly poop realism artist and I'm just glad I was able to get actor-likeness.)

Take that Twilight!! Ha! Love the expression on Sookie's face after plugging Emo girl in the face, the fact that Eric is tearing out Pretty Boy's heart, and that Alcide is about to hand Jacob's ass to him on a platter! Sweet!! True Blood is bad ass!

why arent they interacting more and maybe looking at each other :/ this defitnity LOOKS like a photo manip, i know what ur capable of but it definity kinda almost maybe looks like a manip

Because it was HEAVILY photo referenced. It's a painting, pure and simple, but every single one of them is essentially a miniture portrait painting of a still from the actual series. <shrug> I'm simply not talented enough to get a facial likeness of this level without consulting Ref.

I had the series playing on another monitor, and I'd find a shot I liked, pause it, and begin painting on my laptop, constantly glancing over to double check I was getting it perfect. I did this for every character.

Can't do this kinda painting off the top of my head.
