Another 20usd Character Bust.

Anthro is fun to do, honestly. I like painting fur and hair, so it's just a case of that all over. I do really struggle with face shape, and I can't help shaking the feeling this ones alittle wonky, but I can't hope to correct it with my limited knowledge of animals.

Ferret, with Fennix Fox Ears! As commissioned by SaintNorth! Who was an awesome anthro client, I might add.

My main worry when producing anthro art is that people aren't aware what animals actually look like. I know that sounds silly, but lets say you told me your character was a hedgehog, and then I produced a piece of realism anthro art of a hedgehog.. And then you said, "No, like Sonic", I'd immidiately have to point out that Sonic looks nothing like a real hedgehog. In the slightest. It's these kind of discrepencies between what people expect an animal to look like, and to what it actually does look like, thats put me off the anthro circuit for so long.

This was not one've those scenarios. I went through all the ref I could find of ferrets (and fenix fox's), and then talked to SaintNorth about my concerns, and he understood whole-heartedly, and together we were able to produce this painting.

A painting that hopefully brings his character into a realistic light, while being true to the original concept. ^^
